Congrats to Evan Y. for graduating from occupational therapy! Evan made so much progress during the course of occupational therapy. He and his mother worked so hard to practice many of the skills and apply the strategies used during OT sessions. It was truly a collaborative effort! We can't wait to see what great things he will do in the future! Evan’s mom shared, “It has been great 5 years for Evan and us! Both my husband and I are so happy to see Evan’s growth in many areas and our growth on how to help him. Thank you so much!”

The Greenspan Humanitarian award will be presented to Dr. Mona Delahooke, a clinical child psychologist with a focus on early childhood development. In addition to working with children and families she is well respected for providing training and consultation across the United States, and for her helpful blog about children with special needs. PCDA’s 50/50 Campaign

Every day PCDA transforms the lives of local families and children that face huge challenges with courage and grace. The love of parents for their children combined with the hope that our skilled professionals can provide, work together to achieve amazing results. A boy learns to manage his very strong emotions so that he and Dad can work through a disappointment with warmth and closeness. A girl learns to try new foods at mealtime with her family that has been struggling to help her gain weight. Another boy forms a friendship in social skills group, and is confident in suggesting his ideas for the first time. We are so proud to be a resource to the community and to each individual child and family that comes to us for help. Click here to learn more.

Children’s Book of the Month
Moo! by David LaRochelle
PCDA Newsletter

When Cow gets her hooves on the farmer's car, she takes it for a wild ride through the country. Moooo! But a bump in the road brings this joy ride to a troublesome end. Moo-moo. . . Has Cow learned her lesson about living life in the fast lane? Moo?

This imaginative picture book will have readers laughing one moment and on the edge of their seats the next, as it captures the highs and lows of a mischievous cow's very exciting day.

Nutrient of the Month:
Calcium

Calcium is a mineral that is important for healthy bones. It also plays a role in muscle and nerves function. Remind your growing children that calcium is something they need to grow big and strong!

Dairy-based foods, such as milk, cheese and yogurt, are the most common sources of calcium that Americans eat. However, it is also present in non-dairy foods sources, like almonds, spinach and tofu. Try these fun yogurt popsicles with your children. A science experiment to see what they look like before and after they are frozen, what they all taste like and which are everybody’s favorites is a fun way to cook with kids!

Congratulations Volunteer
of the Month Stefan Studer
PCDA Newsletter

Stefan began volunteering at PCDA last year as a committee member for PCDA’s first-ever Move-a-thon. Stefan immediately felt connected to the cause and wanted to do more. As a professional celebrity and fashion photographer, Stefan offered to take portraits for PCDA families free of charge. The first round of portraits was a huge success and soon more families were interested. Stefan has now taken four rounds of family portraits, providing beautiful, high quality photos to more than 30 families. In addition, he recently created a 2016 PCDA calendar with the photos he has taken here. These photos have not only been an incredible gift to PCDA families, but also to our organization. Thank you, Stefan, for your selflessness and commitment to helping PCDA advance its mission!
